Frequently Asked Questions

What is a color harmony and which modes are supported?
Color harmony refers to visually pleasing relationships between colors on the color wheel. This generator supports 7 modes: Random (Golden Ratio distribution), Monochromatic, Analogous, Complementary, Triadic, Tetradic, and Split-Complementary.
How does the swatch lock feature work?
Clicking the lock icon on any swatch locks that color into place. When you generate new palettes or switch modes, locked colors remain preserved while unlocked slots are regenerated to harmonize with them.
Can I export palettes directly to Tailwind CSS or CSS variables?
Yes. Our polyglot code exporter generates valid CSS custom properties (:root variables), ready-to-paste Tailwind CSS theme config blocks, JSON objects, and downloadable SVG vector swatches.
How are the Tailwind color shades (50 to 950) calculated?
Shades are calculated using color mixing curves. Steps 50 to 400 are blended toward white to produce light tints, step 500 represents your base color, and steps 600 to 950 are blended toward deep dark tones for rich UI accents.
