Binary to Hex & Hex to Binary Converter

Translate binary numbers and raw bitstreams into hexadecimal bytes, format nibbles, and calculate decimal values with instant client-side execution.

At a glance

Binary to Hex & Hex to Binary Converter is a free browser tool that converts binary bitstrings to hexadecimal bytes and vice versa online. It toggles 4-bit nibbles, 8-bit bytes, 0x/0b prefixes, and upper/lowercase. Real-time synchronization between binary, hexadecimal, and decimal values. Nothing is uploaded and no sign-up is needed — everything runs on your device.

How Binary to Hex Conversion Works

Because hexadecimal is base 16 (2^4 = 16), every single hexadecimal digit corresponds exactly to 4 binary bits (known as a nibble).

To convert any binary bitstream to hexadecimal, separate the bits from right to left into groups of 4. Convert each 4-bit group to its hex equivalent: 0000 = 0 up to 1111 = F. If the highest nibble contains fewer than 4 bits, it is padded with leading zeros.

Arbitrary Precision Bitstream Processing

Traditional JavaScript number converters overflow when converting binary strings longer than 53 bits (such as 64-bit memory addresses or 256-bit SHA-256 hashes).

This engine processes bitstreams chunk-by-chunk using string nibble mappings alongside native BigInt arithmetic, allowing you to convert arbitrarily long cryptographic hashes and byte arrays with 100% precision and complete in-browser confidentiality.

Why Use This Binary to Hex & Hex to Binary Converter?

100% Client-Side Privacy: Your bitstreams and cryptokeys never leave your device.
Arbitrary Bit Length: Convert unlimited-length binary inputs without 64-bit integer overflow.
Bidirectional Instant Sync: Real-time synchronization between binary, hexadecimal, and decimal values.
Customizable Formatting: Toggle 4-bit nibbles, 8-bit bytes, 0x/0b prefixes, and upper/lowercase.

How to Use Binary to Hex & Hex to Binary Converter

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you convert binary to hexadecimal?
Divide the binary number into groups of 4 bits from right to left (each group is a nibble). Convert each 4-bit group to its hex equivalent (e.g., 0000=0 up to 1111=F).
Can this tool handle large 256-bit or 512-bit cryptographic hashes?
Yes. The engine processes arbitrary-length bitstreams chunk-by-chunk without integer overflow limitations.
Does converting binary to hex upload my data to any server?
No. All conversions execute 100% client-side inside your browser memory.

Methodology

This tool runs entirely in your browser. The example above shows a representative input and the result it produces.
