Free Online UUID / GUID Generator

Generate RFC 4122 and RFC 9562 compliant Version 4 and Version 7 unique identifiers with custom formatting and instant bulk export.

At a glance

UUID / GUID Generator is a free web tool that generates cryptographically random UUIDv4 and time-ordered UUIDv7 identifiers online. It toggles hyphens, uppercase casing, curly braces, and quotes for easy SQL, JSON, or code embedding. Processing happens entirely on your device — nothing is uploaded and no account is required.

100% In-Browser Cryptographic Randomness

Zero server generation. Your generated UUIDs and keys are private, non-traceable, and never logged.

Why Use This UUID / GUID Generator?

Modern UUIDv7 & Standard UUIDv4: Generate next-generation time-ordered UUIDv7 identifiers for high-performance databases, or classic UUIDv4.
Bulk Generation up to 500 Keys: Instantly generate and export hundreds of unique IDs with zero rate limits or lag.
Flexible Formatting Controls: Toggle hyphens, uppercase casing, curly braces, and quotes for easy SQL, JSON, or code embedding.
Built-In UUID Inspector: Paste any existing UUID to instantly validate format, extract version number, and inspect timestamps.

How to Use UUID / GUID Generator

1

Select Version & Count

Choose between random UUIDv4 or time-ordered UUIDv7, and set your desired generation quantity.

2

Customize Formatting

Toggle uppercase lettering, hyphens, curly braces for GUIDs, or quote wrapping for code arrays.

3

Copy or Download

Copy single UUIDs directly to clipboard or export bulk lists as formatted .txt or .json files.

Worked example: RFC 4122 Version 4 Identifier

The 128-bit identifier sets the 4-bit version field to 0100 (v4) and 2-bit variant field to 10xx (RFC 4122) with 122 bits of true cryptographic randomness.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between UUIDv4 and UUIDv7?
UUIDv4 is completely random and unpredictable, ideal for security tokens and non-sequential IDs. UUIDv7 combines a 48-bit millisecond timestamp with random bits, making it naturally sortable in chronological order. This dramatically improves B-tree database indexing and cache efficiency compared to random UUIDv4.
Are these UUIDs guaranteed to be unique?
Yes. With 122 bits of cryptographic entropy in UUIDv4, the probability of generating a duplicate is approximately 1 in 2.71 quintillion—statistically impossible in practical computing.
Can I use these generated UUIDs as GUIDs in Windows / C#?
Yes. A GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) is simply Microsoft's implementation of the standard UUID specification. Toggle the 'Uppercase' and 'Braces' options to get standard GUID formatting.
Is any data sent to a server?
No. All UUIDs are generated in real-time inside your browser using the native Web Cryptography API. Nothing is recorded or transmitted.
